Snoopy Cat
Dear Feline Friends,
I am going to be 1 year old in March. I live with my aunt & uncle
who have an elderly couple as caregivers. Nice folks. But they
seem to think I have a problem. If they pick me up I start purring
really loud. I do it beautifully. But then I feel forced to also
meow loudly as though I am unhappy to being petted. But I keep
on purring. I gotta do both, until they put me down.
My aunt sits on the female's lap and purrs. My uncle will purr
as he stands by a chair and the male pats his back. But neither
ever meows at them for any reason. Am I strange or what? Why do
I do both at once?
It seems even odd to me that I have this love/hate relationship
to getting attention. Do I need help? Or am I simply trying not
to make my aunt & uncle jealous of all the attention that is showered
upon me because I'm so cute & cuddley with my white paws & throat
& belly contrasting with my long tiger/tabby striped coat and
the adorable white streak on my nose and they are just an ordinary
plain tabby/ tiger and a close-to-being-called ugly tortiseshell.
What do you think? Am I a split personality? I feel healthy and
very happy and play rowdy games and catch balls and eat good.
Could my nickname (Snoopy) have affected me? My proper name is
Charles Albert Thomas The Cat.
Snoopy Cat
Well there are some cats who meow and purr at the same time
when they are cuddled. A sort of extra excitement thing. But sometimes
a cat will purr and meow because they're feeling a little bit
uncomfortable. So it depends on which you are. It might be worth
your humans taking you for a check up to the vets to make sure
there is nothing causing you any pain. If there isn't then you're
just excitable and it's nothing to worry about.
