Dear friends, Purraholism, although distressing in itself, can also lead to other problems, especially catnip addiction. Tiddles is a female cat who lives in Freedie Street a few doors up from us. She developed purraholism and then her problems really started! The local hard tom gang started hanging around outside her catflap. They told her that catnip could help her and gave some to try. Well, you can guess what happened. Soon she was addicted to catnip. Of course they demanded payment for the 'nip' and she was trapped in a dependecy cycle. Pretty soon poor Tiddles was selling her favours to pay for her habit and naturally she became pregnant. Now she's a single mum with kittens to support! Tiddles was lucky. When we found out what was going on we drove off the gang and helped Tiddles overcome her catnip addiction but it was a close thing. Who knows what might have happened to her or the kittens if she had lived in a less understanding neighbourhood! So, if any of you have the same problem or can offer any advice we will post them here so that all can benefit from the wisdom and experience of our readers. Please email us at the address below. Spaz Spaz has a sister who can't purr!. |
