Princess Wafflet of the sacred rings of Bastet
Hi Sass it's Waffles again...
Well, that's the human name. One's true name is Princess Wafflet
of the sacred rings of Bastet, divine hunter of rodent life, destroyer
of all mice. But, formalities aside...
The humans have "rescued" a kitten. Good grief, whilst I sympathise
with their intentions, man, this whippersnapper is a DISGRACE
to the feline nation. I do believe he has already put paw to keyboard
and written about his problem. At least he can admit to having
one. (See Francis in Purraholics - Sass)
Not only was he crawling with fleas, nasty, horrible biting things,
BUT, get this, he had ear mites - YUK, such poor personal hygiene
- at least the humans took him to the vet to be "sorted" before
bringing him home. His purr is far too loud and he just doen't
care where or when he breaks into this pathetic form of vocalising.
It is sooo degrading to our species to see him crawling all over
the humans in the house, eyes glazed over and purring so loudly.
He has no pride!
Worst of all, his meow, that proud call of our kind, is nothing
more than a pathetic whimper from him! Ha! I always knew males
were inferior, but this has proved it!
I, of course, have to periodically remind him exactly who is Queen
of this particular neighbourhood - Moi! He keeps himself in line
most of the time when I have reminded him by a swift claw to the
nose or fang in the foot. The appropriate line being grovelling
on the floor in front of his Queen.
Still, I can forgive him, just a little, when he grovels on the
floor toward me and I occasionally reward him with a good clean
licking! One has to keep these youngsters in hand!
Seriously fine meows to you, Sass.
Waffles
Hi Princess Wafflet
Well it sounds like you've got him well in paw! You certainly
have to keep these kittens in line. A quick scratch or bite never
did anybody any harm, although our humans seem to think it's all
a bit aggressive. But then look at the mess they make of things.
If only they'd settle their differences quickly with good bite
or scratch perhaps they'd argue less and get on better with each
other.
It is a shame that one so young should have fallen prey to the
dreaded purraholoics syndrome! Is there no hope for him? Perhaps
it's a passing phase caused by his undoubted gratitude to your
humans who certainly have given him a much better home and helped
him to get rid of those terrible parasites. Given a little time
I'm sure normal feline habits will resurface.
I suspect you can train him to meow properly but increasing the
ferocity of your chastisement! Just hit him a bit harder when
he displeases you and he'll get the message. Although I do get
the feeling you're getting motherly instincts towards the little
one? Just don't let the humans catch you washing him or you'll
loose the moral high ground.
May the purrs be with you
Sass
