RattyDear Leila et al,
I have no fondness for your race - though my human friend does
indeed have the vile habit of liking your kind. Unfortunately
for her she cannot have a cat in her present job and in her rented
home. Fortunately, however, she found a friend of greater intellect,
amenability and amusement - ie myself. I am not certain whether
she has recognised my superiority, but she does admit that she
finds me a perfect substitute in her straightened circumstances.
It's not often we hear from a member of the rodent population! I understand from a human friend who is fond of your race that rats are very fond of strawberries. I've often wondered if that's true? My humans would like to live with a rat. We would certainly approve of this although perhaps not for the same reasons. We'll add your letter to our letters page as you're the only meal brave enough to speak out in feline company. purrrss Sass To Sass, I am rather partial to strawberries, but I prefer yoghurt or a bit of steak (medium rare) when I can get it. Sadly my human friend is a vegetarian. At the moment I have a bit of a cold and am being force fed anti-biotics. Personally I think a bundle or wild thyme and camomile would do the trick. But you can't tell humans anything! Rats like me get very stressed out by proximity to one of your kind so I would suggest your human send you to the cat home. My human says that's a bit nasty - but I am a Rat after all. Yours (if you could catch me), Ratty Mmmmm I must admit I'm partial to yoghurt myself. I like the idea of yoghurt and rat even better. Sounds quite delicious! Unfortunately I think it unlikely that the humans would give me the chance to find out. I'll suggest it to Jake though as he is a hunter of distinction. Of course he'll have to try this with your smaller relatives (which he catches in great quantities on our roof) as we have no access to your wild cousins who live in the tunnels and sewers under London. One day perhaps... Yours hungrily Sass |
