The Cats Guide To Grief

Much Loved Prince

So glad to find your page, I lost my Prince my soul my life just over a year ago. I was particularly distressed because the vet said we could keep him going on medication and he would be fine, I wanted him to go with dignity as befitting a member of the Royal House of Siam.. however this was not to be, I found him in a most distressed condition in my spare room, a quick visit to said vets put him at peace...

Oh I miss my prince so badly that even the two little tom cats that were acquired shortly after did almost nothing to ease the pain. (his companion Gizmo a havana brown went out on the Friday before and has not been seen since, did he know?) Am I a jinx as far as cats are concerned?

The two little tom cats were brothers and named Tom and Jerry, what else! Tom was involved in an argument with a car and lost... my poor baby...now I worry every time his brother Jerry goes out. I blame myself for not having Tom seen to, Jerry has now been done, a case of closing the stable door ...etc huh? I have vowed that should Jerry leave my life suddenly then I will not have any more cats I feel that it is through me that these little creatures have gone, my fault....

Ellen... A very sad cat owner.......
